Welcome to Jay's Desk
Everything I find, try, and obsess over ends up here. No jargon, no sponsor scripts โ just honest takes from a curious person and their desk.
TL;DR
Why another tech channel?
Because most tech content either talks down to you or drowns you in specs nobody asked for.
I wanted something in between โ a place where curiosity drives the conversation, where "I don't know, let me find out" is a perfectly valid starting point, and where every claim comes with receipts.
What Jay's Desk is about
This isn't a niche channel. It's a desk โ and whatever lands on it gets the same treatment: honest research, transparent sources, and a take you can actually use.
That might be a home battery one week and an AI coding tool the next. The common thread isn't the topic โ it's the approach.
What you'll find on this site
For every article, you'll find:
- Research notes โ the raw research that went into the piece
- Sources โ every link, study, spec sheet, or article I referenced
- Key takeaways โ if you don't have time for the full read
Think of this site as the "show your work" section.
The gear
For the curious:
- Camera: Sony FX3
- Stabilization: DJI Osmo
- Edit station: Mac Studio M4 Max
- This site: Next.js + Tailwind, deployed on Vercel
Pull up a chair
That's the idea. No jargon, no sponsor scripts, just honest takes from a curious person and their desk.
If that sounds like your kind of thing โ subscribe on YouTube, bookmark this site, and I'll see you at the desk.
